Fallin for Fall

Hi there! Riley here. It’s been quite a while since I have written in my favorite diary. It’s Fall now. The leaves are changing and the temperature is dropping. The wind is howling and the hot tea is brewing. I’ve traded my swimsuits for scarves and my sun hats for beanies. As far as lipstick is concerned… well I’m still wearing it of course.

My favorite fall accessories include my gold boots, my beanie, dark red nail polish, velvet pants, vintage jewelry, fur coats and of course red lipstick.

This isn’t a fashion post, but a post to celebrate this time of year. On this Thanksgiving Eve, take a second to think of all of the things you are thankful for. Maybe write them down and stick them in a jar. That way, when you are having a bad day, you can pull one out and smile.

Thankfulness can be applied to every aspect of your day. Maybe you just got in your car and spilled coffee all over your freshly washed outfit and you are late to work (I’ve done it several times)… be thankful that you have a cute outfit and a cup of coffee. Maybe you forgot to turn in a paper or made a bad grade on a test… be thankful that you have the opportunity to go to school. Maybe you are frustrated because the person in front of you is driving slow… be thankful that you have the ability to drive. Be thankful every second of the day, because even though it may be hard, there is always one thing. That one thing is that “You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.” (Romans 5:8) Now, if that isn’t enough to be thankful for, I don’t know what is.

Walk outside and find Him in the beauty of the wind blowing through the red leaves. Make yourself a cup of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows or just put on some lipstick and tell somebody you love them. Thankfulness lifts the burden of a hard day and makes you smile when it seems impossible.

Tomorrow will be filled with cool breezes, warm dinners and hot chocolate. It will be filled with laughter and joy and full bellies. As you eat turkey with your family and friends, stop to think about what it truly means to be thankful.

I am thankful for you. Thanks for reading my diary.

P.S. ~ Don’t forget to wear your lipstick tomorrow.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures FOREVER.” 1 Chronicles 16:34

xoxo,
Riley
